Recreational Space for Our Village

My village, Dumasturi, is located in the Pankisi Gorge, on the left side of the Alazani River. The village is essentially just one long central road, with houses lined up on both sides along the roadside. In reality, there is no designated safe and isolated space for the village residents, especially for children, where they can relax and play. The goal of my project is to create photographic materials to show the community and local residents the necessity of establishing a recreational zone.

On the outskirts of the village, near the forest, there is a space that could be transformed into a recreational zone - a safe place for children that could, in the future, serve a more diverse purpose for the community.

The works were created within the framework of the project “Creative arts for shifting power for equality in marginalized communities of Georgia”. The project is funded by the Swedish Institute and implemented by the Tbilisi Photo Festival in partnership with Save the Children International.

The Swedish Institute did not participate in the design of the project.
