Let’s Meet in Pankisi
Video duration: 03:47
Our project aims to introduce Georgian children to the real life of people in Pankisi - not the version seen in myths, but the reality as it truly is. We want to show how Pankisi residents live and share more about our traditions, culture, and Islamic religion.
We often attend camps organized by KRDF in the village of Sabue, Akhmeta Municipality, where we make friends with Georgian children and spend time together.
Through this project, we want to help our friends better understand the Kist people - their way of life, culture, customs, and the history of Pankisi - which will help dispel false stereotypes. The project will also promote friendships between children of different religions.
The works were created within the framework of the project “Creative arts for shifting power for equality in marginalized communities of Georgia”. The project is funded by the Swedish Institute and implemented by the Tbilisi Photo Festival in partnership with Save the Children International.
The Swedish Institute did not participate in the design of the project.
