Dezső Tandori: The Road to Damascus
Now, when just the same as ever,
it’s high time that.
(translated by N. Ullrich Katalin)
About a year ago, I started meditating regularly, and it has fundamentally transformed my worldview. I experienced the days of the quarantine — which I predominantly spent alone — as a kind of spiritual retreat.
I started devising a visual journal which helped me with my self-reflection, and now it reminds me of the experienced state of consciousness and thus contributes to my self-therapy. I took long walks in the surrounding area, which became a defining backdrop to my work.
The landscape and plant texture images of the series are imprints of the journeys I ventured on, both outside and inside. They appear in the series in the order of their natural flowering time, and this way they become indicators of the passing of time as well.
