"The Guardians of the Caucasus" | Film Screening & Discussion with Grégoire Eloy
Through the eye of French photographer Grégoire Eloy, "The Guardians of the Caucasus" proposes a sensitive immersion alongside the people of Tusheti, cut off from the world during the winter months.
While the first snows are falling in the remote mountains, announcing the isolation that will last until spring, the photographer travels to Tusheti, following the footsteps of the infamous Georgian photographer Shalva Alkhanaidze, to meet and photograph these “irreducible Tush”, deeply attached to their land and the wild nature that surrounds them and who decide to stay in the empty villages during the winter.
