Meeting Point: Mountains
From January 17, Tbilisi Photography & Multimedia Museum invites you to the multimedia exhibition “Meeting Point: Mountains”.
“Meeting Point: Mountains” is the culminating event of an art residency program of the same name held in mountainous Adjara throughout 2023 and gathers the works of 9 local and International artists, researchers, and anthropologists.
Artistic residences in mountainous Adjara is a program initiated by the Tbilisi Photo Festival, which took place in 2023.
The project was implemented with the support of the European platform Magic Carpets and the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Georgia.
What do we know about mountainous Adjara, its people, and their daily life? What do we know about the region's historical and cultural heritage, traditions, and contemporary challenges? The invited Georgian and international artists, researchers, and anthropologists used the artistic residencies as a unique opportunity to learn more about mountainous Adjara and to express the results of their observations, knowledge, and impressions in the form of works created in different mediums.

In addition, the exhibition also shows the seaside of Adjara photographed by Anri Tabagua as a tribute to the Adjarian photographer who died in 2023.
