XXI Century Portraits by Guram Tsibakhashvili
Modernity through the gallery of portraits by the renowned Georgian photographer Guram Tsibakhashvili, is a new project initiated by Tbilisi Photography & Multimedia Museum in 2021.
“The humans are at the frontline of the course of events. That’s exactly the humans, who give the shape to the icon of the Universe “, said German photographer August Sander, the master of twentieth century photography, who created the paramount gallery of his contemporaries in the first half of the past century.
The ‘Portrait of 21st Century’ aims at creating the ‘face of our time’ through the portraits of those, who are the builders of our modernity – the era overloaded with the global challenge, political and social injustices, as well with the substantial technological achievements and progress…
The ‘Portrait of 21st Century’ will become an integral part of the modern Georgian visual heritage, will enrich the visual history of our age, and will compile the significant visual information on the first decades of 21st century…through the gallery of portraits.
